Todd Puhl
Dark Phoenix

It took me awhile to write this one. Mainly because I was procrastinating about it. How does one write a review about a film where the main actor peaced out 20 minutes into the flick because she knew it was hot garbage? How does one hire the same writer/director/producer who did the previous Phoenix film that was a disaster and decided maybe he was misunderstood and needed a second stab at it.
Welp, here it is guys, Hollywood rebooting films that are barely that old in the hopes we can milk that franchise dry. Did anyone not learn from the Fantastic Film Franchise? All 3 times?
As of this writing the Tomatometer had it at 23%, Metacritic was at 43% and IMDB was at 6/10.
The Cast:

They somehow conned MacAvoy, and Fassbender into this steaming pile of crap. Whereas Jennifer Lawrence was stuck in a contract and was forced to stick it out. It must be disheartening that you have to star in a film and there is no way out of it from stopping from tarnishing your acting career. Bad enough, she had to do X-Men Apocalypse, but this certainly was not the swan song of the franchise, more so her solid acting resume.
The Recap:
This is the story( THAT WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN) of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet -- one of their own.

The good:
· The only good thing about this film is that it marked the ending of this horrible reboot saga
The bad:
· Everything. Why in gods name did we need another retelling of already a crappy saga(A.J disagrees)
· As mentioned earlier, Jennifer Lawrence found a way to be killed off quickly so she can salvage her career. It was bad, but smart move.
· Cyclops & Storm characters were complete jokes, and the fact there was no Wolverine in the story as he should be really ruined everything.
Things that stood out:
This film purely proves one of my favorite analogies. No matter how many times you polish a turd, at the end of the day, it is still shit in your hands.

Why we should watch or not watch it:
Forget that this reboot saga occurred after Days of Future Past and salvage what good memories of the Xmen we have left. It will be rebooted in 5 years and I am sure Jack Black will play wolverine based by how things normally go.
