Thoughts on the WWE

Updated: May 29, 2019

Now there has been a lot of talk and a lot of theories about what is going on with the WWE. Now for those that don't know and are living under a rock they have announced yet another brand split between RAW and Smackdown just like they had done back in 2002 and through until 2011. Two different shows and two different rosters. Now this does raise a lot of questions about what they are going to do and who is going to go where.

Now we've gone through this once and it did last a while so they have something to work with and learn from and have some ideas as to what to do and what not to do.  I will go over some of the rumours and give my thoughts and ideas as to this upcoming change.  Now this is going to happen in the early part of July and with it as well that Smackdown will be going to a live broadcast unlike the previously taped iteration that is running now.

The last thing I want to bring up thoughts of is the idea of the new GM for Smackdown.  Recently Shane and Stephanie are doing the co-GM thing of RAW.  Which has been working out very well for the most part.  But it is going to get stale and I am thinking by the time the brand split occurs they will split off and each manage a show.  Stephanie ran Smackdown the last time and they made mention of it on RAW.  They talked about fresh blood as well but I think in the end they will just go the obvious route and split them up due to family tension and they can play off the rivalry between the shows as well once the split occurs.

There is around a month and a half before the split takes place and I think the time leading up until it happens is going to be great.  It is a great opportunity for those stars that are hovering in the mid-card level to get a push and allow people exposure when they wouldn’t normally get it because of the stacked amounts of talent.  It will be good for the wrestlers which in turn is good for the fans.  I can’t see anything but good things coming up with this.  It will take a bit of time to get used to but we got used to it the last time and it wasn’t a complete failure.  I think it will be done with a lot of the previous iteration in mind as a learning experience.  I can’t wait to see what the rosters will look like 2 months from now.  Enjoy the next couple of weeks and I will revisit the decisions that the WWE made for the brand split.
