Cosplayer Spotlight: PureLight Cosplay

Updated: May 27, 2019

This week we have a treat for our fellow geeks! We get to sit down with the absolutely stunning and talented, Purelight Cosplay.

Droids: Thank you for sitting down with us for an installment of Cosplayer Highlight! When we came across your fan page, I was blown away with the large amount of awards you have obtained in the last few years! Congratulations on your success! Purelight: Thank you so much. I have worked very hard in these last few years to obtain those awards and Im always working to continue that :)

Droids: Easy/typical questions first. What was the first convention you attended? What was the most memorable part of that convention? Purelight: My first convention was Anime north and my favourite memory of that convention was hanging out with friends and having people take my picture for the first time.

Droids: You seem to have a very unique selection of cosplay that you have done. Is there a cosplay you will not do? If so, and Why? Purelight: I havent found a cosplay I wouldn't be willing to do. the only thing that ever stands in the way of a concept is time and funds.

Droids: What was your favourite cosplay costume that you've done so far? Purelight: All of my Starfires, hands down.

Droids: Do you have a favourite convention? If so, which one is it, and why? Purelight: Fan expo is my favourite convention thus far as its usually the one i get to have fun with my friends at and relax while still being able to compete.

Droids: What was the hardest costume for you to make to date? What made it so difficult? Purelight: my current secret cosplay is the hardest i have ever worked at because of the amount of skills it takes to create. However the one that people would know would have to be my ahri because of the tails i had to make. Every cosplay comes with its challenges, and thats what I love about it. If its easy...I dont feel as motivated.

Droids: Is there a cosplayer that you look up to for inspiration Purelight: Jessica Nigri and Yaya han have been my inspirations from the get go. they're both so incredibly talented, beautiful ladies and I always look up to them and everything they do. whenever thereork comes across my feed it always reminds me to love what I'm doing, work hard and continue to be positive.

Droids: Is there a Con that you have not gone to yet but aspire to do so? Purelight: I hope to one day attend Dragon Con as I would love to see the outfit that people bring. I'm also looking forward to getting a chance to attend NYCC this coming fall which has been on my list for the past few years.

Droids: Is there anything else you want to add about cosplay or yourself in general or perhaps promote something that may not have already been covered?

Purelight: hahaha, not really. Im not a very interesting person to be honest. Im a costuming student, cosplayer and love being part of this community. Thank you so much for the interview :)

It was an absolute pleasure sitting down with you! Congratulations on your continued success as an amazing cosplayer!

We hope to bump into you at Fan Expo this year!
