Todd Puhl
Cosplayer Spotlight: London Batman
Updated: May 26, 2019
We have the prestige honor to finally corner the wildman himself, Toronto Batman. After many failed attempted to get an uninterrupted interview, text is the best way to go!

Droids: You are an impossible person to interview at a Comic Con! But don't worry, we love you! Every experience we had together at a Comic Con is completely memorable. And to quote Doctor Andrew Chalmers from Doctor Who Dark Journey, you sir, are a Wildman! How’s life living on the corner of Commissioner and Gordon? (This is a real street corner lol)
Bats: Indeed it is! I actually didn't realize it at first... My co-worker, Muggle that he was, was the one to point it out to me... Sometimes you can't see the forest, because of the trees! LOL I can be a LITTLE slow.... sometimes... lol
Droids: I think the safe bet for now is to complete our “official” interview via text! Easy/typical questions first. What was the first convention you attended? What was the most memorable part of that convention?
Bats: My First con was Fan Expo 2007. I was LITERALLY dragged kickin and screamin... I was SOOOOOO ignorant of the epicness.. I gotta thank ma Bro's Erol and Oz for that AMAZING time!

Droids: What was your favourite cosplay costume that you've seen so far?
Bats: WHERE does one even begin to start an appropriate answer to that?!? I thought this interview was gonna be easy!! GAH!! I dont know?!?! I'm a Fan of SEVERAL costume designers.. I've seen things that SHOULDN'T exist in reality!! Shit that should ONLY exist in cartoons! And I'm talkin ANIME here, boys and girls!! I've seen a Delorean Transformer! I've seen a to-scale Groot! (Love yer talent Alfredo!) I just recently saw an AMAZING General Grievous!! I know Silent Bob that ACTUALLY tricked Jason Mewes!!!
Droids: Do you have a favourite convention? If so, which one is it, and why?
Bats: I ADORE Niagara Falls Con!! THAT is my Vacation Convention! I meet sooooo many people, Soooooo many friends... there's NO stress... the celebs are sooooo laid back... its just a sweet place to chill, party,
hook up, hang out, etc! I just can't describe it...it's like ...a GREAT feelin in the air.... it IS the honeymoon capital of the world.... and I drink... sooo that might be part of it....
Droids: What was the hardest costume for you to make to date? What made it so difficult?
Bats: Believe it or not, I'm STILL trying to perfect the damn Archer costume!! Its a headache and a half! I've NEVER had as much trouble building a Batsuit or a Doctor Who costume.. But with cosplayers doing amazing Borderlands Make-up and detailing. I reeeeeeeally need to up my game!!
Droids: What is your most favourite part of putting on your cosplay costumes? What is your least favourite part?
Bats: Favorite part? Hmmmmmm... Thats like what's yer favorite part about gettin dressed in the morning? Is it putting on yer socks? or the shirt? lol My costumes are like my clothes... they stop the nude from happening? I do admit that I don't like the whole makeup routine I hafta do.... but its CRUCIAL to the Batman look... so I'm stuck with it...
Droids: You seem to have a very diverse selection of Batman cosplay that you have done. Also, we can not forget your amazing Archer cosplay. Is there a cosplay you will not do? If so, and Why?
Bats: Lol THANKS! I do enjoy building NEW Batsuits for Mission Specific reasons. I'm still trying to make a Cold weather suit...cuz...ya know... I LIVE in Canada!! lol But as for something I won't do? I REALLY try to avoid doing Superman Cosplays... I grew up on a Farm... and that hits a little too close to home...
Droids: Is there a Con that you have not gone to yet but aspire to do so?
Bats: I would LOVE to Hit up San Diego or even Dragon Con...one day....
Droids: London Batman is known on every Con floor as the person to hang out with.Every attended Con I have attended, I always heard about your shenanigans. Hence, why I am ecstatic we are friends! Do you have a crazy con story you can tell? Could it be funnier than Drinkachu? LOL
Bats: At Fan Expo last year I debut my Batman Beyond Suit... and I was feeling kinda bummed that I couldn't enter it into the Masquerade due in part I had not really sewn or built it... I basically bought everything and modified the individual pieces so that I looked like a Batman of the future. I heard:"Cool Batsuit Brotha!" I looked over at the voice.... Hulk FUCKIN Hogan walks past... yeah Terry Hulk Hogan liked MY Batsuit!!! Yeash Money Pennah!!!! I then had some dudes see my costume, freak out about it sooooo much that 500 convention go-ers put all eyes on me. And when I deployed my wingpack, all 500 people cheered!! THAT was the best part about that con and that Batsuit! ;-)
Droids: Is there anything else you want to add about cosplay or yourself in general or perhaps promote something that may not have already been covered?
Bats: I LOVE being the London Batman and my city has two AWESOME Cons your audience need to come see! London Comic Con Sept 25-27th and Forest City Con Oct 18!
Batman, It was an absolute pleasure sitting down with you! Again, but this time no interruptions!
